Thor Hammer Steel Lamp
Thor’s Hammer!!!!…. after watching The Avengers again..I thought …How cool it would be to make Thor’s Hammer out of steel…..But make it a lamp…and space out the pieces so Light can Shine through as if it’s “Charged with Electricity ” and have those beams shoot out and cover the walls and ceiling….so made it.
Made up from over 50 individual solid steel pieces..hand cut…mig welded…and sits in a solid cast iron base…lamp comes off to change the bulb..( 40 wt applnce bulb inc ) …Hammer attaches onto base via two metal “seats” ..that secure the hammer to the base…taller seat must be inserted first then shorter seat..slightly balance to set…( very simple when seen ) i wanted to make sure it is Steady and firm on base…
Hammer is apprx 17″ in length by 8″ wide by 6″ deep…handle is solid rebar steel with steel sleeve over..wrapped in leather… the entire piece…Hammer and Base weigh in at 14 pounds…
This piece is designed to be ART and not played with…or Hit your Husband in the head with…unless well deserved …LOL =)
